Nexus In-School

Nexus In-School is a work related learning, partnership project with Schools. It is available to all Year 11 students assessed by their school as meeting any, or a combination of the following criteria.

  • Most likely to benefit from a practical, vocationally orientated education
  • Most likely to benefit from taking a reduced number of GCSE’s
  • Attendance at school becoming an issue
  • At risk of exclusion

These students may need more support than School can offer but are not at the ‘Single Point of Referral’ stage. We offers personalised, vocationally based learning comprising of three days per week work experience together with the opportunity to take part in an accredited course. The remaining two days per week are spent in school taking a reduced timetable of GCSE’s.

We arrange student inductions, placement visits and health and safety assessments of all work placements, as well as providing a high level of support for students and families.
