Education Psychology
Our team of educational psychologists have experience of working with children, young people, schools and families in a wide range of contexts.
We use our knowledge of psychological theory and research along with our experience to help develop a clear understanding of children and young people in order to enhance learning and emotional health and wellbeing.
Educational psychologists have a specialist understanding of cognitive/learning, social and emotional development and also of human relationships. We have an awareness of the influence that the interaction between the child and his/her environment has on subsequent development. For this reason, much of professional practice is focused on the adults who are responsible for children and young people and also on the social institutions that shape children’s development.
In order to support schools around these key areas of well being and development, we offer a variety of courses and consultancies (see courses section). These focus on the following area of our work:
- emotional Health and Wellbeing
- learning and cognition
- language and communication
- social skills and social development
- working in partnership with parents.
